Clary Sage

*Labor Discomfort - (Compress) Add 2 drops essential oil to 1 cup warm water. Soak cloth in mixture, and hold the wet cloth to the abdomen or back as long as desired. (Topical) Mis 2 drops essential oil with 1 tablespoon carrier oil; massage hips, bottoms of feet and abdomen.
*Clary Sage should only be used when the Mama is full-tem/in labor.

Lavender*

Slow Labor - Mix 2 drops lavender & 2 drops Clary Sage with 1 tablespoon carrier oil. Massage lower abdomen & lower back.

Peace & Calming

Emotional Reset - Mix 2 drops essential oil to 1 teaspoon carrier oil. Apply to wrists, neck and around the ears.
Healthy Skin -

Peppermint*

Flatulence - Mix one drop peppermint with 1 teaspoon of honey. Stir into a small glass of warm water. Sip slowly. Repeat once a day.
Breech Baby - Mix 5 drops essential oil with 1 tablespoon carrier oil. Rub into the belly. Repeat as needed to encourage the baby turn around. Myrrh is also an oil that could help.
Pushing - Diffuse a 5 drops for energy during pushing.
Nausea/Vomiting - Apply 2 drops in the navel and 2 behind the ears every 1-2 hours. You can also inhale as needed.

Purification*

This oil is best used as aromatherapy. Two drops can be placed on a cotton ball, washcloth or in a diffuser. One of my favorite oils for birth because it reduces mental fatigue and lifts the spirit, and it can also improve circulation and oxygen flow.

One of my favorite ways to use Purification is to wet a washcloth with cool water, place 1-2 drops each of Purification and Peace & Calming and use the cool cloth to "fan" Mama during her Surges.

Its also an antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and has purifying and sanitizing properties (perfect for your out-of-home birthing place).

Valor

Room Diffusion - Diffuse 5-7 drops
Grounding Massage - Mix 2 drops essential oil to 1 tablespoon carrier oil. Massage back of neck, shoulders, hands, and feet.
Relaxation - Valor can be applied to heart, wrists, solar plexus and from neck to thymus.
Back Labor - Apply to lower back to ease labor discomfort.
Bottoms of Feet - Apply to the bottom edge of the ball of your foot, right in the middle. This is a "Grounding" pressure point.

Gentle Baby

Post-Birth Care - Place 2-4 drops diluted on abdominal area of Mom and Baby.
Diaper Rash - Dilute 1:30 with carrier oil and apply on location.
Baby Oil Alternative - Mix 2 tablespoons carrier oil with 5 drops.
Baby Powder Alternative - Mix 2 tablespoons corn starch or arrowroot powder with 5 drops.
Stretch Marks - Mix 1-2 drops with carrier oil or mix 2-4 drops with Rose Ointment.

Joy

Anointing - Apply diluted to feet of Mom and Baby.
Crying Baby - 1 drop applied to adults hand and waved in front of baby's face, make sure not to put it right next to his nose. The can also be worn on an adult who is holding the baby.
Lactation - For Mom to inhale to help calm and soothe stress, as it may have a negative interference with lactation.
Emotional Support - Inhale and wear daily as perfume (over heart or on both wrists).

Frankincense*

Anointing Baby - Apply a few drops diluted on the crown of the head as an anointing oil.
Headaches - Place a drop on temples, back of neck, across forehead and on the painful location. It can also be inhaled.
Emotional Support - Diffuse or apply anywhere to the body.
Umbilical Cord - Apply 1-2 drops per day directly on the umbilical cord stump until it falls off, generally in one week.

Stress Away*

This blend is specially formulated to help relieve everyday stresses and tensions. It contains Copaiba (anti-inflammatory, used for muscle aches, pains, nervous exhaustion), Lime (lively scent that is both stimulating and relaxing), Cedarwood (calming), Ocotea (may help with emotional balance), Lavender (relaxing and promotes general sense of well-being).

Diffuse or apply to the wrists, temples neck, or other desired areas of the body.
